Job summary

Exentec BioPharma Solutions in Lawrence, MA is seeking an experienced Fabricator / TIG Welder to support the fabrication of stainless-steel components for pharmaceutical manufacturing. The role requires reading drawings, welding frames, tubing, and valve fabrications using GTAW processes.

You will use hand and fabrication tools, maintain quality and safety, and collaborate with the team to ensure on-time delivery of custom equipment.

Qualifications

Job description

Fabricator / TIG Welder (Lawrence, MA)

Exentec BioPharma Solutions is seeking an experienced Fabricator / TIG Welder to support the fabrication of stainless‑steel components and equipment for the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities
  • Follow daily direction from department head or supervisor.
  • Read and interpret assembly drawings and technical specifications.
  • Perform high‑quality TIG (GTAW) welding on stainless‑steel frames, tubing, and valve fabrications using manual and automated processes (20% of the time).
  • Utilize machinery and hand tools for cutting, machining, grinding, and polishing stainless‑steel components.
  • Assist in the assembly and fabrication of custom‑engineered pharmaceutical equipment.
  • Maintain consistent communication with team members and leadership regarding progress, challenges, and potential solutions.
  • Ensure all work meets required quality, safety, and performance standards.
Qualifications
Required:
  • 1–3 years of TIG (GTAW) welding experience.
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with precision and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Preferred:
  • Experience with fabrication and testing of TFF, chromatography, or bioreactor systems.
  • Knowledge of ASME BPE Codes, Standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems and components.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (more than 2 consecutive hours within an 8‑hour shift).
  • Regular interaction with machinery and equipment containing moving parts.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials as needed.
  • Exposure to welding, cutting, and grinding processes.
  • Occasional exposure to low‑ and high‑voltage equipment.
  • Work performed in a clean, climate‑controlled manufacturing environment.
