Job summary

Airtronics Inc., located in east Tucson, Arizona, is seeking an experienced Fabricator/Manual Machinist to join its shop servicing commercial and US Government clients.

You will weld with SMAW, GTAW and GMAW on mild, alloy steel, aluminum and stainless steels; operate manual mills and lathes; and design tooling and fixtures for complex geometries.

Qualifications

• Experience welding mild and alloy steels, aluminum, and stainless steels.
• MIG and TIG welding expertise.
• Ability to fabricate geometries with shop math and tolerances.
• Proficient in tooling, jig and fixture design and fabrication.
• Ability to operate a manual milling machine and a manual lathe.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate complex geometries from blueprints and specifications.
• Set up and run manual milling and lathe operations.
• Trim, deburr, and finish surfaces to required tolerances.
• Assemble components using soldering, bolting, rivets, screws or bonding.
• Design and build tooling and fixtures for production.

Airtronics, a manufacturing and machine shop facility with both commercial and US Government clients, has an immediate opening on its team for an experienced Fabricator/Manual Machinist

• Experience in SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW welding of mild and alloy steel, aluminum alloys, and stainless steels
• Mig and Tig Skills required
• Perform mathematical calculations required to fabricate complex geometries
• Proficient in tooling, jig, and fixture design and fabrication
• Ability to run a manual milling machine as well as manual lathe
• Be able to trim, file, grind, deburr, buff and smooth surfaces
• Ability to solder, bolt, rivet, screw, clip, caulk or bond component parts to assemble products
• Be able to operate a manual mill and lathe to build tooling
• Good understanding of set-up techniques
• Must have well rounded understanding of ferrous and nonferrous alloys
