Job summary

Hendrickson in Indiana is seeking a skilled Machinist/ CNC Operator to operate turning and milling machines, perform inspections, and ensure products meet specifications.

The role emphasizes following procedures, reporting progress on work orders, and maintaining safety. Prior machining experience and the ability to read measurements with calipers and micrometers are preferred. This is a full-time on-site position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Experience with CNC machining and precision measurement is required.
• Ability to follow procedures and assess problems to resolve issues.
• Must be able to meet production standards and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines including turning and milling to produce parts.
• Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and go/not-go gauges.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment as scheduled.
• Accurately report daily activities on work orders and other records.
• Perform quality checks and ensure products stay within tolerance.
• Maintain safe work habits and follow site safety rules.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Essential Functions

• Performing burning, grinding, shearing, sawing, turning and press brake operations to produce a quality product.
• Operates CNC machines to include turning and milling processes.
• Perform inspection on product utilizing Total Quality concepts.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as scheduled.
• Accurately report daily activities on work orders and other media as required.
• Conduct required quality control checks using various measurement equipment.
• Exercise safe work habits.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Mechanical aptitude with a demonstrated ability to work in a production environment preferred.
• Ability to follow operation procedures and assess problems and recommend solutions to resolve problems.
• Ability to perform quality checks using calibrated digital micrometers, various calipers and go/no go gauges to ensure product is within tolerance.
• Must be able to meet production standards and follow instructions.
• Must be able to attend work on a regular basis.
• High School diploma or GED from an accredited school required.
• Pass drug and alcohol screen and remain drug free throughout the term of employment.

Minimum Requirements

• Mechanical aptitude with a demonstrated ability to work in a production environment preferred.
