Job summary

SPI in Mobile, AL is seeking a Fabricator to operate band saws and other saws to fabricate fiberglass, mineral wool, and other insulation materials. You will be part of a safety-focused manufacturing team that emphasizes quality and efficiency on every shift.

The role requires basic computer skills, a high school diploma or GED, forklift certification, and the ability to obtain a respirator medical clearance. Local travel is minimal.

Job Description

Your Responsibilities

As a Fabricator, you will operate a band saw, and other types of saws, to custom fabricate fiberglass, mineral wool, perlite, and many other types of specialized insulation.

• Safely and efficiently operate appropriate equipment.
• Accurately measure material for efficiency.
• Maintain quality and housekeeping.
• Ensure production levels are meet daily.
• Comply with all safety requirements.
• Perform other fabrication duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Any other duty, task, or responsibilities as assigned.

Your Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• If operating a vehicle for company purposes, a valid driver's license is required.
• Experience and/or training in a manufacturing/fabrication/warehouse environment (preferred).
• Able to be medically certified to wear respirator (if required).
• Basic computer skills (preferred).
• Forklift certified.
• Education High school diploma or GED required.

Physical Requirements

This role requires prolonged standing and repetitive motions, including bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling. Role also requires good hand-eye coordination, hand dexterity, and physical strength. The position involves lifting up to 50 pounds, depending on the specific job duties.

Compensation Range

$13.00 - $30.00
