Job summary

Stryker is seeking a robotic welding operator for an onsite position in Portage, IL. Schedule is Mon-Fri 5:45am-2:15pm with overtime as needed. You will load, position, and weld parts in robotic cells, verify part IDs, monitor processes, and inspect welds to meet quality standards.

Preferred candidates have a High School diploma or GED, 1+ year fabrication experience, and material handling background. Stryker offers bonus eligibility and benefits as part of compensation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor welding processes and perform basic equipment adjustments within guidelines.
• Inspect welds and assemblies to ensure quality and production standards.
• Identify and help resolve weld defects, material issues, or equipment concerns.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records and support continuous improvement.
• Follow safety, quality, and PPE requirements and keep a clean, hazard-free work environment.

What you will do:

• Operate robotic welding equipment safely and efficiently while following established production procedures and work instructions.
• Load, unload, position, and secure parts in robotic welding cells to ensure accurate and consistent weld quality.
• Verify correct part identification, orientation, and component usage before initiating welding operations.
• Monitor welding processes, recognize abnormal conditions, and perform basic equipment adjustments within established guidelines.
• Inspect completed welds and assemblies to ensure they meet quality, dimensional, and production requirements.
• Identify, communicate, and help resolve weld defects, material issues, damaged parts, and equipment concerns.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records while supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Follow all safety, quality, and PPE requirements while maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
