Job summary

Simpson Strong-Tie is seeking a skilled Fabricator in Riverside, CA. You will bend, seat, flange, and top flange material per work orders and drawings to meet safety, quality, and lean production goals.

The role involves machine set-up, programming, operation of presses, layout work, and some training responsibilities. Domestic travel up to 5% may be required; relocation is not offered.

Responsibilities

• Machine Set‑Up, Programming, and Operation - set up, program, troubleshoot, and operate production machines.
• Fabrication and Layout Work - perform layout, fabrication and assembly tasks; create customer specialty items.
• Troubleshooting and Quality Control - diagnose issues and verify quality with measuring tools.
• Equipment Maintenance and Safety Compliance - basic maintenance and adherence to safety procedures.
• Training and Team Support - train and assist other production employees and share techniques.

YOU

As a Fabricator, you will be responsible for bending, seating, flanging and top flanging material according to work order and production drawing specifications in such a manner as to achieve safety, quality, efficiency and lean production goals.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time)

• Machine Set‑Up, Programming, and Operation - 40% Independently performs set‑up, programming, troubleshooting, and operation of one or more production machines, including: Automatic presses, Turret presses, and Utility presses (shears, press brakes, manual presses) Ensure machines run efficiently, safely, and to required specifications.
• Fabrication and Layout Work - 25% Performs layout, fabrication, and assembly tasks needed to meet production requirements. Creates and fabricates customer specialty items when required.
• Troubleshooting and Quality Control - 15% Diagnoses mechanical and process issues with equipment or fabricated parts. Verifies accuracy of completed work using measuring tools and quality standards.
• Equipment Maintenance and Safety Compliance - 10% Conducts basic equipment care, cleaning, and preventative maintenance. Follows all safety, operational, and company production procedures.
• Training and Team Support - 10% Trains and assists other production employees. Provides guidance on machine operations, safety practices, and fabrication techniques

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

This position requires domestic travel up to 5% of the time.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, non-exempt position is located in Riverside CA.

PAY

$20.75 - $25.40 / hour

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. This role operates large equipment while standing for approximately 8-12 hours, regularly twisting and bending in a repetitive motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift, carry, push and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The job may risk exposure to heat and/or cold, loud noise levels, vibration, and moving mechanical parts.
