Packer City/UP International in Iron Mt. Michigan is seeking Technicians to join our team in a clean, safe environment. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for career advancement.

Responsibilities include fabricating, servicing, diagnosing and repairing heavy trucks, with emphasis on electrical, hydraulic, welding and basic computer skills. A positive attitude and teamwork are essential for success in our fast-paced shop.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Service Technician experience preferred but not required.
• 2+ years of Fab experience preferred.
• 2+ years of welding experience ( MIG/ARC)
• 2 year degree or certificate preferred

Responsibilities

• Fabricator/Technician is responsible for building custom heavy trucks, servicing, diagnosing and repairing trucks.
• Includes electrical wiring, hydraulic plumbing, assembling of metal components, fabrication, welding and basic computer skills
• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor/ Service Foreman /Service Manager so that customers can be informed if any additional service or safety issues are needed
• Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
• Test-drive Trucks, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes,, etc.
