Job summary

Paxton Countertops in Lansing, Michigan, seeks a Fabricator/CNC Operator to handle natural stone, solid surface, quartz, Dekton and laminate fabrication. You will operate CNC machines, read shop drawings, and measure to 1/32 inch accuracy while maintaining safety standards.

The role requires teamwork, self-direction, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment. Prior countertop fabrication or CNC/Machining experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience fabricating countertops or using similar tools preferred.
• CNC, CAD experience preferred.
• Must be a team player with ability to focus on client fulfillment.
• Self-directed worker capable of staying on task with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate Natural Stone, Solid surface, Quartz, Dekton and Laminate.
• Operate CNC machines.
• Read shop drawings and measure to 1/32 inch accuracy.
• Work to proper safety standards and use hand tools, grinders, saws, routers, sanders.
• Attach and install top mount and undermount sinks; drill holes as needed.
• Load/unload slabs of stone and finished countertops with proper safety equipment.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Fabricate Natural Stone, Solid surface, Quartz, Dekton and Laminate
• Operate CNC machines
• Read shop drawings
• Add and subtract accurately Measure and cut within 1/32 tolerance
• Work to proper safety standards
• Use hand tools, Grinders, Saws, Routers, Sanders
• Attach and install top mount and undermount sinks Drill holes for fixtures as needed
Load/unload slabs of stone and finished countertops with proper safety equipment

Qualifications

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to handle heavy materials – lifting, carrying, pulling, and pushing 100+ pounds
• Must be able to stand for 8+ hours a day

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in fabricating countertops or experience using similar tools, measuring, and cutting accurately preferred
• CNC or machining experience preferred
• CNC operating experience preferred
• CNC programming experience preferred
• CAD experience preferred
• Must be a team player with the ability to focus on client fulfillment
• Self-directed worker capable of staying on task with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
