Job Summary

Under close supervision the responsibilities may include assembly, forming, finishing, material removal, inspection, rework and repair of assembly components and parts per customer specification; maintenance of machine tools, hydraulic systems, CNC equipment, vacuum and electrical systems; operation of machines, hand and power tools, gauges and measuring instruments; fabrication of temporary tooling, tooling maintenance and first‑level maintenance.

Safety and Compliance

This position is designated as safety‑sensitive under Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

Job Responsibilities
  • Apply coatings and paint to various metallic blades in accordance to operations sheets
  • Mix paint and other solutions for coating process
  • Create test coupons for workflow
  • Load and unload coated blades from furnaces and ovens as required for curing process
  • Inspect blade as per specifications listed on work instructions
  • Identify and evaluate patterns. Prior to removal of material determine method to remove material to meet customer specification
  • Use handheld air‑powered tools such as grinders, sanders, and deburring tools
  • Demonstrate understanding of standard operating procedures to achieve desired results in a timely manner while meeting all quality aspects
  • Understand surface finishing processes including blending and sanding parts (Experience working with titanium parts is a plus)
  • Fill out or stamp approval of process‑related documentation
  • Maintain records associated with periodic maintenance and order spare/replacement parts as required
  • Maintain a clean work environment, including assigned storage and cleaning duties in full compliance with company standards, customer and government regulations
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of a business culture that supports the company’s overall objectives, including cost, quality, process, schedule, and people
  • Ensure the company’s commitment to maintaining a safe workplace and protecting the environment through policy support and adherence to various government regulations
  • Fully comply with the GKN Aerospace, Inc. Policy Statement on Contracting with the United States Government in all areas of responsibility involving direct and indirect contracting with the U.S. government
  • Perform other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned
Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and diagrams
  • Ability to be certified to operate forklift
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder due to program security clearance requirements and/or SSA requirements
Preferred Qualifications
  • GKN experience
  • Experience working with hazardous materials and/or chemicals
  • The ability to work as a team player as well as independently is required
  • Knowledge and experience in troubleshooting or safety, quality and technical issues with co‑workers, quality and engineering functions
  • Willingness to work in a repetitive production environment with concern for meeting cost, quality and schedule requirements
Compensation

The compensation range for this position is between $22.00 – $25.00 per hour.
