Job summary

GE Aerospace Indianapolis is seeking a detail-oriented assembler to support the manufacture of aerospace components for commercial and military aircraft engines. The role involves reading complex drawings, operating fabrication equipment, and ensuring parts meet strict quality standards.

Candidates should have 6 months to 1 year in fabrication, experience with basic machine tools, and a willingness to work overtime.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 6 Months-1 year experience with fabrication techniques and machinery.
  • 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with simple machine and tool operations.
  • Read, understand and utilize procedures, detailed computerized build plans, and basic mathematical calculations.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize various tools to de-burr, planish, grind and polish the product.
  • Work from complex product drawings, manuals, and specifications.
  • Utilizes precision measuring instruments to inspect parts.
  • Adherence to Operator Acceptance Procedures (OAP).
  • Inspect finished product and identify defects.
  • Set-up, operate, adjust and troubleshoot all tools and equipment used in the assembly process.
  • Utilize inspection gauging on parts and run first piece inspection of parts.
  • Maintains accurate work records.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with others.
  • Follow and promote safe work practices.
