Job summary

NOV Cedar Park Manufacturing Center seeks a skilled Fabricator / Assembler to support sheet metal fabrication and enclosure assembly. You will prepare raw materials, operate fabrication equipment, perform spot welding, and build precision-enclosed products in a safe, clean environment.

You'll collaborate with fabrication, welding, paint, and production teams to ensure quality, on-time delivery, and adherence to 5S and HSE standards, while maintaining attention to detail and safety.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year in manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Ability to read a tape measure and interpret drawings/blueprints.
• Proficient with hand and power tools; basic sheet metal knowledge.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with attention to detail and safety.
• Willing to cross-train and pass background/drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Prepare raw sheet metal: measure, mark, deburr, and stage material.
• Operate fabrication equipment (shears, band saws, drill presses, Time Saver, spot welders).
• Assemble sheet metal enclosures using hardware, hinges, latches, and gaskets.
• Inspect components for workmanship and dimensional accuracy during fabrication and assembly.
• Follow HSE policies and maintain a 5S-compliant workspace.
• Support Lean initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
• Complete production documentation accurately and ensure compliance with engineering standards.

In this role, you will support the fabrication and assembly of precision-engineered enclosure products, from preparing raw materials through final mechanical assembly. You will work closely with Fabrication, Welding, Paint, and Production teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations.

NOV's Cedar Park Manufacturing Center is seeking a skilled Fabricator / Assembler to support sheet metal fabrication and enclosure assembly operations. This hands-on role prepares raw materials, operates fabrication equipment, performs spot welding and finishing operations, and assembles precision-engineered enclosure products in a clean, safety-focused manufacturing environment.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum one (1) year of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, mechanical assembly, or a related industrial environment.
• Proficiency using hand tools and power tools in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure and perform basic dimensional measurements.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Basic understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to accurately read a tape measure, use basic precision measuring tools, and maintain attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand, walk, bend, and work on concrete floors for extended periods.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to working safely and following all NOV Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies.
• Willingness to cross-train in fabrication, assembly, and other manufacturing operations.
• Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating Time Saver (wide belt sander) equipment.
• Experience performing resistance/spot welding.
• Experience assembling sheet metal enclosures.
• Forklift and/or overhead crane experience or certification.
• Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing or 5S environment.
• Experience using ERP systems such as JDE.

• Prepare raw sheet metal for fabrication, including measuring, marking, deburring, and material staging.
• Operate fabrication equipment including shears, band saws, drill presses, Time Saver equipment, and spot welders.
• Perform spot welding operations per engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Assemble sheet metal enclosures using hardware, fasteners, hinges, latches, and gaskets.
• Inspect components for workmanship and dimensional accuracy during fabrication and assembly.
• Follow NOV HSE policies and maintain a clean, organized work area using 5S principles.
• Exercise Stop Work Authority for unsafe conditions or quality concerns.
• Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
• Assist with material handling and component preparation for fabrication and welding operations.
• Complete production documentation accurately and ensure compliance with engineering standards.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
