Job summary

Cedarparktexasedc is looking for a Quality Inspector in Cedar Park, TX to inspect machined parts at our manufacturing facility. The role includes performing inspections, maintaining inspection documents, and ensuring compliance with standards.

Job description

Position Overview

Quality Inspector with strong mechanical tool inspection knowledge to inspect machined parts at our Cedar Park TX manufacturing facility. Day shift, on‑site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections on components.
  • Perform source inspections at facilities.
  • Prepare inspection reports and maintain files of inspection documents.
  • Review inspection records received for compliance.
  • Maintain inspection and measuring equipment.
  • Prepare and coordinate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for nonconforming parts.
  • Perform other work‑related tasks as assigned.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
Facility Responsibilities
  • Perform in‑process, final, and receiving inspections, working with inspectors and manufacturing employees in other inspection areas.
  • Inspections are made against drawing, specification and/or instructions.
  • Accountable for product/process incoming and/or final inspection activities required for purchased and manufactured parts, respectively, and processes.
  • Proper care of all company tools and measuring equipment before, during and after use.
  • Ensure that all gauges are in calibration, clean and free of rust, as well as in good working conditions at all times before use and traceable to/from their assigned storage location.
  • Ensure all records are kept accurately updated according to established procedures.
  • Identify discrepancies and prepare non‑conformity reports.
  • Observe safety regulations, wear required safety equipment, encourage safe working practices, correct obvious hazards immediately or report them to supervisors.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • HS Diploma or GED or equivalent (required).
  • 3 years related experience and/or training (required).
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (required).
  • Proficient with mechanical inspection tools and techniques.
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug screening (required).
  • Able to perform physically demanding work—standing, bending, lifting 25 lbs. regularly.
  • Must be physically fit to perform inspection work for extended periods of time that may involve sitting, bending, stooping, standing, and repetitive arm, shoulder, and hand movements.
  • Must demonstrate good work ethics in attendance, dependability, orderliness, and teamwork.
  • Experience measuring API and/or ACME threads is preferred.
  • ASQ certification (inspector) preferred.

Working Conditions
  • Normal manufacturing environment.
  • Frequent lifting of materials and product up to 40 pounds.
  • Use of safety equipment (eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, hard hats).
  • No loose fitting clothes and jewelry permitted.
  • Standing 65% of the time.
  • Works under immediate supervision, typically reports to supervisor/manager.
  • May be exposed to fumes, vapors, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration. May be exposed to intermittent loud sounds.
