Job summary

Alumacraft Boat Company in St. Peter, MN is hiring a Fabricator – Aluminum Boat Manufacturing. The role supports production by supplying clean aluminum, plastic, or wood parts cut by a CNC router, working under the Fabrication Supervisor.

The position starts at $24.42 per hour, with benefits including PTO, health insurance, dental, vision, a 401(k) with 4% match, and a lifestyle package. This on-site role requires accuracy, teamwork, and adherence to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• 6+ months experience in machine operation.
• 6+ months experience reading prints/shop cards, schedules, and rework logs.
• Demonstrated basic computer skills and machine programming experience.
• Ability to prioritize and communicate necessary information to peers and supervisors.
• Understanding of machine guarding, LO/TO isolation, and safety procedures.
• Experience reading operating manuals, written programs, and written instructions.
• Ability to follow instructions and effectively execute procedures.
• Industrial scheduling awareness and ability to prioritize jobs.
• Preferred: forklift operation experience and exposure to quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Set up machines and load parts for CNC router operations.
• Inspect parts for burrs, sharp edges, slag, and proper drill hole spacing.
• Deburr parts and test with calipers, tapes, and micrometers.
• Load/unload parts, fasten to tables, and manage kanban for replenishment.
• Run CNC programs and adjust based on defects or malfunctions.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and monitor tool wear.
• Learn and operate additional equipment as needed (decoiler, forklift, bandsaw, etc.).
• Maintain a clean work area and communicate issues to supervisors.
• Participate in daily meetings and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist in training teammates on equipment and procedures.
