Job summary

Wastequip is seeking a Fabricator in Erial, NJ to fabricate steel parts and tools using a variety of machines. You will set up and operate a press brake and/or shear, read blueprints, and orient parts to meet precise dimensions.

The role requires basic math, safety consciousness, and a willingness to work in a fast-paced production environment. 1+ years of production experience is preferred; CNC controls understanding is a plus. Mon-Fri shift 6:00 AM–4:30 PM with overtime on Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Able to read blueprints and use measurement tools accurately.
• Basic math and problem solving skills required.
• Experience reading work orders and setup instructions.
• EHS requirements and safety procedures must be understood.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate steel and metal parts per work orders and blueprints.
• Operate a press brake and/or shear; setup is a plus.
• Lay out cutting lines on metal and inspect dimensional accuracy.
• Clamp stops, set angles, and position workpiece for cutting.
• Perform quality checks to ensure pieces meet specs.
• Maintain safety standards and participate in clean-up.

Job Description:Wastequip has an immediate opportunity for a Fabricator to support our Erial, NJ manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate will have the skills and experience necessary to fabricate steel parts and tools using a variety of machines.Shift Hours: 6:00AM - 4:30PM (Monday-Friday) including overtime on Saturdays.Hourly Pay: $21.28RESPONSIBILITIESFabricate steel and other metal parts as indicated by the work order and blue printsOperating a Press Brake and/or ShearTurns handwheels to adjust rake (angle) and pressure of bladePositions and clamps stops and side guides to set length and angle of cutLifts workpiece manually or by hoist or crane to machine bed or roller table and positions it against side guide and end stopsStarts machine, which clamps workpiece and lowers blade to cut metalLays out cutting lines on metal when shearing single piecesTilts bed, blade, or installs fixtures to shear, bevel, or trim fabricated itemsOperates portable shear to cut sheet metalInspects work to verify dimensionsQUALIFICATIONSPrior experience operating a Press Brake and/or Shear.
