Job summary

Wastequip is seeking a Fabricator in Salisbury, NC to fabricate steel parts per blueprints and work orders. You will operate a press brake or shear, set up tooling, and position parts for precise cuts while ensuring dimensions meet specifications.

Ideal candidates have 1+ years in production, ability to read blueprints, basic math skills, and familiarity with CNC controls. The role offers full-time hours (7:00AM-3:30PM) with competitive hourly pay and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Prior experience operating a Press Brake and/or Shear.
• Understanding of basic CNC controls.
• 1+ years prior production experience preferred.
• Ability to read blue prints and measuring tape.
• Basic math and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate steel and other metal parts as indicated by the work order and blue prints.
• Operate a Press Brake and/or Shear.
• Turn handwheels to adjust rake and pressure of blade.
• Position and clamp stops and side guides to set length and angle of cut.
• Lift workpiece manually or by hoist or crane to machine bed or roller table and position it against side guide and end stops.
• Start machine, clamp workpiece and lower blade to cut metal.
• Lay out cutting lines on metal when shearing single pieces.
• Tilt bed, blade, or install fixtures to shear, bevel, or trim fabricated items.
• Operate portable shear to cut sheet metal.
• Inspect work to verify dimensions.
