Job summary

Hyspeco, Inc. is seeking a skilled Fabricator to build hydraulic power units and related components. You will set up fabrication equipment, cut, weld, and assemble parts to drawings, and ensure quality and on-time delivery through precise workmanship.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED with welding/ fabrication experience and may hold a tech certificate. Work involves reading hydraulic and electrical schematics and following ISO 9001:2015 processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1+ year fabrication, welding or related manufacturing experience.
• Technical certificate or 2-year degree in welding, industrial tech, mechanics or related field preferred.
• Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical prints and symbols.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble hydraulic power units, frames, and related components per drawings and specs.
• Set up and operate fabrication equipment (drill press, band saw, plasma cutter, MIG welder) and hand tools.
• Assemble fluid power systems and subassemblies to support production flow and on-time completion.
• Bend hydraulic tubing and fabricate hoses to specification; verify lengths and fittings.
• Read hydraulic/pneumatic and basic electrical schematics and BOMs to complete builds.
• Perform in-process checks and operate test stands to verify product function and conformance.
• Prepare components for paint, packaging, and shipment; complete documentation accurately.
• Handle, label, and dispose of waste materials per department requirements.
• Support ISO 9001:2015 requirements and control of nonconforming output.

Job description

The Fabricator builds and supports fabrication and assembly work for hydraulic power units and related components, using shop equipment to cut, form, weld, and finish metal and tubing. This role is accountable for completing work safely, meeting specifications, and supporting on-time delivery through accurate workmanship, documentation, and coordination with the fabrication team.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Fabricate and assemble hydraulic power units, frames, and related components to drawings, work instructions, and specifications.

Set up and operate fabrication equipment and hand tools, such as drill press, band saw/cutoff saw, plasma cutter, MIG welder, and grinders, to cut, drill, grind, and fit materials.

Assemble and kit fluid power systems and subassemblies to support production flow and on-time completion.

Bend hydraulic tubing and fabricate hydraulic hoses to specification; verify orientation, lengths, and required fittings prior to release.

Read and interpret hydraulic/pneumatic and basic electrical schematics, drawings, and bills of material to complete builds correctly.

Perform in-process checks and operate test stands and test equipment as assigned to verify product functionality and conformance.

Prepare completed components for paint or finish, packaging, and shipment; complete required documentation accurately and on time.

Handle, label, and dispose of waste materials properly in accordance with department requirements.

Support department priorities and assist other team members as directed by supervision.

Work safely at all times by following required PPE, safe work practices, and equipment operating procedures; stop and **escalate** unsafe conditions immediately.

Participate in training and continuous improvement activities to improve safety, quality, and production efficiency.

Perform basic preventative maintenance and care of equipment, such as cleaning and lubrication, and report equipment issues that could impact safety or quality.

Operate material handling and shop equipment needed to perform assigned work.

Inspect workmanship and verify critical characteristics; report defects, damaged materials, or questionable conditions before proceeding.

Support ISO 9001:2015 requirements as defined in Hyspeco quality procedures and processes, including documentation and control of nonconforming output.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Mechanical and fabrication aptitude, including welding, cutting, grinding, drilling, and measuring.

Ability to read prints and schematics, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical diagrams.

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of fabrication, welding, assembly, or related manufacturing experience, or equivalent hands-on training required.

Additional welding and fabrication experience; familiarity with hydraulic and electrical prints and symbols.

Compensation

$26 hourly
