Job summary

Acara Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Sheet Metal Fabricator for a contract (3 months) with potential for temp-to-hire in Pomona, CA. You will interpret blueprints, set up and operate fabrication equipment, and ensure parts meet precise specifications in a hands-on manufacturing team.

The role runs 40 hours per week on first shift (5:00am-1:30pm). Starting pay is $19.50/hr, with direct hire pay at 19.98/hr and a 0.40 shift differential on the second shift, plus conversion opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6+ months fabrication experience (forming and punching).
• Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings.
• Basic shop math and measurement tool proficiency.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work safely.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, templates, and work orders to lay out and fabricate sheet metal and other materials.
• Set up, program, test, and operate fabrication equipment (punch, shear, brake) to cut, pierce, bend, and shape materials.
• Assemble and finish components using welding, riveting, bolting, soldering, caulking, grinding, deburring, and other fabrication techniques.
• Inspect and measure completed parts using tape measures, squares, and calipers for quality and specifications.
• Maintain machines, tools, and work areas; manage material availability and safety compliance.

What You'll Do:

• Assemble and finish components using welding, riveting, bolting, soldering, caulking, grinding, deburring, and other fabrication techniques.
• Inspect and measure completed parts using tools such as tape measures, squares, and calipers to verify quality, dimensions, and compliance with specifications.
• Maintain machines, tools, and work areas; coordinate material availability, manage scrap or defective parts, and follow production schedules and safety requirements.

Job Requirements

What You'll Bring:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 6+ months of experience in fabrication, specifically forming and punching.

What Sets You Apart:

• Class A Operators must be able to perform or assist maintenance in performing necessary repairs to equipment.
• Specialized Training: CNC Programming.
• Knowledge of Basic shop math.
• Basic computer skills and use of basic mechanical/measuring tools.
• Able to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language.

Additional Information:

• Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check.
• Ability to drive a forklift and any other electrical material lifting/handling equipment for loading material to the machine and unloading raw material from trucks.
• Must be able to reach, grasp, lift 50 lbs., and push/pull/slide heavy material.
• Must be able to make coordinated movements of the hands and arms to grasp and move objects.
• Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, crawl, and climb.
• Must have a reliable form of transportation.
• Job involves typically working indoors, being assigned to any of the different shifts, occasionally lifting heavy materials, wearing common safety equipment (cut-resistant gloves and sleeves, safety shoes, safety glasses, earplugs), and being exposed to loud noises and the possibility of bumps, cuts, and scrapes.
