Job summary

FALL CREEK FARM & NURSERY in Jonesboro, AR is seeking a hands-on machinist to form metal for product builds and support the manufacturing line. You will set up and operate equipment, follow blueprints, and ensure parts meet specifications.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of relevant experience, with solid mechanical skills and ability to read calipers and tapes to 1/32-inch. Overtime including Saturdays may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-year relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated mechanical ability.
• Able to read blueprints and interpret measurements.
• Able to accurately use caliper and tape measure to 1/32”
• Able to work overtime hours (more than 40 hours per week and Saturdays) as required.

Responsibilities

• Form metal for product build per specifications.
• Set up, repair, operate, and maintain testing equipment as needed.
• Load and unload machines and change dies, fixtures, and gauges.
• Ensure correct program is used and adjust to prints.
• Inspect product and adjust to meet order specifications.
• Perform first piece inspections and verify with gauges and prints.
• Move materials within the work area and maintain clean, safe space.
• Enter work orders and print with finished parts in SAP.

The Build (Responsibilities)

• Perform the work required to form metal for product build.
• Set-up, repair, operate, and maintain testing and related equipment.
• Load and unload machines.
• Change dies, fixtures, and gauges as required.
• Ensure the correct computer program is utilized for the product being run and make adjustments as required by the print.
• Maintain quality standards. Inspect initial product and adjust as necessary to produce the product per specifications identified on order documents and print drawings.
• Check product visually with fixed gauges and prints, including first piece inspections.
• Determine the cause of operating difficulties and take corrective action.
• Familiarity with bending machines (e.g., Press Break Operator) configuration and adjustments is beneficial.
• Solid technical skills in mechanical operations and drawing interpretations.
• Move materials within the work area.
• Place work order and print with finished parts.
• Complete flow work order using SAP when programs are complete.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures to produce a quality product/service.
• Report unusual conditions or questionable items to supervisor.
• Obey all safety rules and regulations.
• Keep work area clean and orderly.
• Maintain records as required
• Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
