Job summary

Aerotek is hiring an Entry-Level Fabricator to join our production team in Delano, MN. No extensive fabrication experience is required, making this a great opportunity for someone starting a career in manufacturing.

Responsibilities include operating lasers, CNC routers, and forming equipment to meet blueprint specifications, reading drawings, and assembling components with carpentry skills. This is a contract-to-hire role with onsite work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with CNC routers and tube benders in a fabrication environment.
• Familiarity with press brake operation and forming sheet metal components.
• Comfort working with a variety of hand tools and shop equipment.
• Attention to detail and strong problem‑solving skills in a production setting.
• Willingness to learn new machines and processes and grow into different roles within the facility.

Responsibilities

• Operate table lasers, tube lasers, and CNC routers to cut and shape pipes, sheet metal, and other metal materials according to specifications.
• Use tube benders and other forming equipment to fabricate metal components to required dimensions and tolerances.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to determine material requirements, measurements, and fabrication steps.
• Measure materials accurately using tape measures and other measuring tools to ensure precise cuts and assemblies.
• Perform saw operation, including safe and efficient use of table saws and other cutting equipment for wood and metal components.
• Fabricate and assemble shipping crates and other structures using carpentry skills and hand tools as needed.
• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC laser and other machine operations, making adjustments to ensure quality and consistency.
• Use hand tools, press brakes, and other fabrication equipment to form, weld, and assemble sheet metal parts.
• Follow safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and job procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
• Lift and move materials and components weighing up to 50 pounds on occasion while maintaining proper ergonomic and safety practices.
• Inspect finished parts and assemblies for accuracy, quality, and adherence to blueprint specifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including routine care of tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with team members and leadership to meet production goals and support continuous improvement in fabrication processes.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in measuring materials accurately using tape measures and other measuring tools.
• Previous machine operation experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
• Experience with saw operation, including table saws and other cutting equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and job procedures.
• Capability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
• Hands‑on experience with fabrication processes, including assembly and sheet metal work.
• Skill in blueprint reading and applying specifications to fabrication tasks.
• Basic welding and hand tool experience in a shop setting.
• Experience with laser operation, including CNC laser systems.
• Ability to work safely and follow established shop procedures and guidelines.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Delano, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
