Job summary

Aecon U.S. is seeking a skilled metal fabricator/welder to join our Beaumont-area team. You will read blueprints, measure and cut metal, operate fabrication equipment, and perform welding and finishing tasks to quality standards.

With 2+ years of related experience, you will contribute to safe, efficient project execution and collaborate with welders, fitters, and supervisors to meet tight deadlines in a challenging industrial setting.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of metal fabrication, welding, or related manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication specs.
  • Experience using fabrication equipment such as saws, grinders, presses, drills, and cutting tools.
  • Knowledge of measuring tools including tape measures, calipers, squares, and levels.
  • Experience with MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding preferred.
  • Strong safety practices and proper use of PPE.
  • Ability to lift and move materials in a physically demanding environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine project requirements.
  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble metal components according to specifications.
  • Operate fabrication equipment and hand tools safely and efficiently.
  • Perform welding, grinding, drilling, and finishing work as required.
  • Inspect fabricated parts and assemblies to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Repair or modify metal structures and components as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
  • Collaborate with welders, fitters, supervisors, and other team members to complete projects on schedule.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Accurately document completed work and material usage.

What You'll Do Here

What You Bring To The Team
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in metal fabrication, welding, or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication specifications.
  • Experience using fabrication equipment such as saws, grinders, presses, drills, and cutting tools.
  • Knowledge of measuring tools including tape measures, calipers, squares, and levels.

  • Strong understanding of workplace safety practices and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to lift, move, and handle materials in a physically demanding environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet production deadlines.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work on feet for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds or more, with assistance when required.
  • Comfortable working in industrial, construction, or shop environments with varying temperatures and noise levels.
