Job summary

Wittmann Group is seeking a shop technician to support welding and painting operations. The role involves cleaning, prepping, and cutting parts while backing up the primary welder/painter to keep production efficient and safe.

Responsibilities include operating a band saw and plasma cutter, maintaining a clean manufacturing area, and producing high-quality work on multiple projects while following procedures and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two or more years in related trade; training may evolve.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Job Summary

The position will be responsible primarily to clean, prep, and cut parts, and be a backup to the primary welder/painter. The work will need to be completed in a timely, cost effective and safe manner.

Requirements

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and general maintenance of the paint booth.
  • Backup to the primary welder and painter.
  • Cutting material with a band saw.
  • Operation of a plasma cutter.
  • Produce quality work while maintaining a high level of production.
  • Follow procedures that ensure work is completed correctly and efficiently.
  • Maintain a safe and clean manufacturing environment.
  • Regularly required to stand, bend, kneel, reach, climb ladders, and move about the facility.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times.
  • Maintain a customer-friendly attitude when interacting with internal and external customers.
  • Handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Goal-oriented with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to produce high-quality work while maintaining a high level of productivity.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two or more years of experience in related trade. Training will be required as time and duties evolve.
  • Future certifications may be required.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform frequent bending, lifting, and moving of materials
  • Must be able to safely lift 50 lbs.
