Job summary

Burkes Mechanical, Inc. is seeking a Fab Shop Welder to weld, fabricate, and assemble metal components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.

The ideal candidate will have fabrication shop experience, read blueprints and weld symbols, operate grinders and related tools, and maintain safety, quality, and precision in a busy shop environment. Must be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work with minimal supervision while meeting

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Welding certification preferred but not required.
• 2+ years of welding or fabrication experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and weld symbols.
• Strong attention to detail and workmanship quality.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Good problem‑solving skills and work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding tasks using MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding processes
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
• Measure, cut, and assemble metal components accurately
• Operate fabrication equipment such as grinders, saws, drills, and presses
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Follow all company safety protocols and procedures
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals
