Job summary

Skillforce in Henrico, VA is seeking a skilled welder/fabricator to fabricate and weld metal enclosures and structures, read blueprints, and set up equipment for fabrication. You will work with MIG and gas-shielded flux core welding on carbon steel from 16-gauge to 0.5", and design fixtures to improve production.

This contract-to-hire, onsite role offers a 4/10 schedule with overtime as needed, and a benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) and PTO.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of welding and fabrication experience.
• Proficiency in MIG welding.
• Experience with gas-shielded flux core welding.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and assembly instructions.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and assembly instructions to determine fabrication requirements.
• Perform MIG welding and gas-shielded flux core welding as primary processes.
• Fabricate enclosures and structural components from 16-gauge to 0.5" carbon steel.
• Construct metal enclosures and structures using appropriate welding techniques.
• Ensure product specifications and tolerances are met accurately.
• Design and build fixtures to improve accuracy, repeatability and efficiency.
• Set up and operate fabrication machinery and equipment.
• Use hand tools and fabrication machinery safely in production.
• Handle carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and brass materials.
