Job summary

Tempur Sealy International is recruiting a Fabrication Technician/Saw Operator for 1st shift in Charlotte, NC. You will cut foam plates, operate fabrication equipment, and ensure data is accurately entered into computer systems to support production.

The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 25 lbs regularly and 50 lbs with assistance, and willingness to work overtime during peak demand. Forklift/PIT certifications are a plus; a High School Diploma or GED is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop and operate machinery.
• Able to lift 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs with push/pull.
• Willing to work overtime during high-demand production seasons.
• Basic data entry and PC usage skills preferred.
• Forklift certification a plus; PIT certification preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety guidelines and work as part of a team to achieve zero incidents.
• Follow instructions on tasks and suggest improvements.
• Cut foam plates to specified dimensions.
• Operate and maintain fabrication equipment.
• Adjust machines and make corrections.
• Assist with other tasks in product fabrication.
• Manage all saw operations in the fabrication dept.
• Accurately enter data into computer and scan guns.
• Maintain daily cycle counts and paperwork accuracy.

We are currently recruiting for a Fabrication Technician/Saw Operator on 1st shift.

Hourly Rate $20.95

What You Will Do:

• Follow all safety guidelines and participate as a fully empowered team member to achieve organization-wide goal of zero incident.
• Follow specific instructions on completing tasks assigned and be able to make suggestions for improvement.
• Cut foam plates into specified dimensions.
• Operate and maintain fabrication equipment in assigned work area.
• Adjust machines and make corrections.
• Assist with other tasks associated with product fabrication.
• Responsible for all operations of saws cutting in the fabrication department.
• Accurately key data into a computer.
• Transact accurately with scan guns.
• Daily cycle counts of all plates on production floor.
• Maintain accuracy of all paperwork.

What you will need:

• Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and operate machinery on a continuous basis.
• Ability to routinely lift objects of 25lbs. and push or pull objects up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work overtime and flexible hours during high demand production seasons.
• Knowledge of PC usage is preferred and basic data entry operations.
• Fork truck certification a plus.
• Must be able to pass PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) course and receive certificate.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior manufacturing experience preferred.Demonstrated ability to multitask with excellent attention to detail.
• 18+ years of age.
