Job summary

Aerotek in Oklahoma City is seeking an experienced shop technician to assist with fabrication, fitting, and welding of steel components for commercial and industrial construction. You will use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment while learning welding and production processes in a fast-paced environment.

This contract-to-hire role requires basic math, reading blueprints, and mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

• Welding school, vocational training, or technical certificate is a plus.
• MIG welding experience is advantageous.
• Experience in steel fabrication, manufacturing, construction, or a machine shop.
• Familiarity with grinders, torches, saws, and fabrication equipment.
• Forklift or overhead crane experience.
• Experience with quality inspections and measuring tools such as calipers and squares.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the fabrication, fitting, and welding of steel components for construction projects.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment efficiently.
• Learn and apply welding and production processes in a dynamic environment.
• Handle materials and perform general production duties as required.
• Basic math and measurement skills.

• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Ability to read basic blueprints or shop drawings.
