Job summary

Altechna group is seeking an experienced Fabrication Technician / Optical Polisher to join our production team. You will polish spherical optical components to tight tolerances, using spindle pitch polishing machines and precision measurement tools, in a quality-driven environment.

The role requires 5+ years of polishing experience, ability to read technical drawings, and a methodical, detail-oriented approach. We offer a day shift and a competitive benefits package for full-time staff.

Fabrication Technician/ Optical Polisher

We are looking for an experienced Fabrication Technician/ Optical Polisher to join our team! If you are detail-oriented, patient & methodical, and take pride in a job well-done, we would love to talk with you about this exciting opportunity!

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fabrication Technician / Optical Polisher to join our production team. In this role, you will play a critical part in producing high-quality spherical optical components by polishing to tight tolerances using advanced equipment and measurement tools. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hand-on technical work, and is comfortable working with precision materials in a quality-driven manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Polish spherical optics to tight specifications, using spindle pitch polishing machines
• Block optical parts and fabricate polishing laps according to process requirements
• Polish a variety of materials, including fused silica as well as precision glasses
• Measure and inspect parts using interferometer and test plates to support quality and production requirements

Required skills

• 5+ years of optical polishing experience
• High school diploma or equivalent education
• Ability to read and work from technical drawings and instructions
• Methodical, detail-oriented, and well-organized approach to work
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities
• Production-focused mindset with strong attention to quality and efficiency

• Pay: $25 - $30 per hour (based on experience)
• Day shift (7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.), with a 30-minute lunch break.
