Job summary

IMMI, based in Westfield, Indiana, seeks a CAPE Fabrication Technician to support customer testing across CAPE centers. You will design and fabricate fixtures, set up tests, conduct operations, maintain 5S standards, and uphold CAPE quality management across projects.

You will work with CAPE leaders and technicians to meet customer objectives while protecting confidential information, maintaining safety, and delivering high-quality results on schedule.

Qualifications

• High level mechanical aptitude with familiarity in test centers.
• Proficient computer skills to operate in an environment using Microsoft Office, etc.
• Verbal, auditory and written English skills sufficient for direction and reporting.
• Work at IMMI/CAPE facility; not a remote position.
• Must be mobile all day; not a desk job.
• Lift up to 40 lbs; perform required physical tasks.
• Maintain an IMMI forklift license and an AWS welding certification.
• Maintain an IMMI pyrotechnic license.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for test support.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in line with IMMI safety policies and CAPE quality requirements.
• Review test requests and preparation documents for clarity and completeness.
• Implement CAPE QMS documents and work instructions as required.
• Prepare test fixtures, setups, and conduct testing and post-test tasks.
• Coordinate with CAPE leadership to set schedules for customer test programs.
• Notify CAPE Quality Manager of quality-related incidents or trends.
• Conduct 5S at CAPE test centers and fabrication shop.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and project data.
• Understand test centers and machine operation across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic systems.
• Contribute to improving quality management documentation and efficiency.
• Foster open communication between CAPE personnel and customers; uphold CAPE objectives.
