Job summary

Hireology in Massachusetts is seeking a Fabrication Technician I to fabricate equipment per drawings and provide feedback on CAD drawings for water treatment systems. You will help prepare maintenance manuals and supporting customer documents while maintaining the fabrication shop daily.

The role requires the ability to work independently or in a team, with duties spanning planning new methods to improve efficiency and collaborating on schematics and installation procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience with Industrial Controls and mechanical systems (unistrut, skids, frames, etc.).
• Experience with special piping and piping materials (polypropylene, stainless steel, etc.).
• Experience with industrial fluid handling systems (pumps, mixers, flowmeters, etc.).
• Read and modify mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Ability to operate fabrication machinery (lathe, drill press, hand tools, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, install, troubleshoot, maintain and repair devices and systems: sensors, relay logic, AC and DC motors, controls and drives.
• Identify parts for new installation or replacement.
• Read, interpret, and collaborate on schematics.
• Understand documentation principles and study schematics/manuals for installation or modification procedures.
• Any other related duties directed by management.

Fabrication Technician I

Responsibilities include fabrication of equipment per drawings. Compile, analyze, and provide feedback on CAD drawings of water treatment systems. Assist with preparation of equipment maintenance manuals along with supporting documents for the customer. Maintain the fabrication shop daily and perform all other duties assigned.

Reporting

The Fabrication Technician will report to the Fabrication Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Offer solutions to keep projects within budget
• Work well independently and in a team environment
• Plan and implement new methods and procedures to make daily operations or system designs more efficient
• Fabricate, install, troubleshoot, maintain and repair the following devices and systems:
  • Sensors
  • Relay Logic
  • AC and DC motors, controls, and drives
• Identify parts for new installation or replacement
• Read, interpret, and collaborate on schematics
• Understand documentation principles
• Study schematics, manuals, to determine installation or system modification procedures
• Any other related duties directed by management

Qualifications:

Desired Qualifications:

• CNC Manufacturing Capability
• Be able to read P&IDs
• Prior fabrication/construction/manufacturing experience desired
• Perform basic programming, basic design, and troubleshooting of systems

**Physical qualifications include but are not limited to:**

• Ability to stand for 8-10 hours (or more)
• Ability to twist, turn, squat, climb, lift, push, and pull
• Ability to carry/lift parts that weigh from 25-100lbs
• Able to do repetitive motions (drilling, cleaning, and application of fasteners)
