Job summary

Ag Growth International Inc. is seeking a fabrication-skilled worker to support steel fabrication activities. You will read blueprints, cut and assemble metal parts, and operate cranes, forklifts, and hoisting equipment to move heavy materials.

Candidates should have 6+ months of fabrication experience and basic computer skills. The role is based on-site in the manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

• Read specifications and blueprints to determine locations, quantities, and sizes of materials.
• Fabricate metal parts according to blueprints or supervisor instructions.
• Shear, bend, and weld steel pieces using appropriate equipment.
• Assemble hoisting equipment and rigging to move heavy equipment and materials.
• Operate cranes, side lifts, forklifts, and electric lifts.
• Unload and position prefabricated steel units for hoisting.
• Set up small parts shearing process and perform maintenance on department equipment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure material surfaces are clean and free from foreign materials, debris, oil, slag, etc. and that the area complies with all OSHA standards.


• Read specifications and blueprints to determine the locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.


• Fabricate metal parts according to blueprints or instructions from supervisors.


• Shear, bend, and weld steel pieces, using metal shears, press machines, and welding equipment.


• Assemble hoisting equipment and rigging to move heavy equipment and materials.


• Pull and push structural-steel members into positions for fabrication.


• Unload and position prefabricated steel units for hoisting as needed.


• Shear flange pieces in straight cuts.


• Operate cranes, side lifts, forklifts, and electric lifts.


• Perform daily and periodical maintenance on equipment used in department.


• Change punch and dies as necessary.


• Set up small parts shearing process.
