Job description

Pay Rate: $25-32 / hour + overtime

Power Solutions International (PSI) is a leading manufacturer of emissions-certified powertrains specializing in customized and fully integrated turnkey solutions for the leading global equipment manufacturers in the industrial, transportation, and energy markets manufacturers. Our facilities are housed in one million square feet of engineering, assembly, operations, and distribution space across seven facilities. We are positioned to meet the high production volumes of our customers with added capacity for growth.

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Fabrication Manager, the Fabrication Team Member will be responsible for set up and operation of various metal fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, saws, and presses, to cut, bend, straighten and form metal plates, sheets, and structural shapes according to blueprints and specifications.

  • Set up and operation of metal fabricating machines
  • Selects, positions, and secures dies, blades, cutters, and fixtures onto machine, using rule, square, shims, templates, hand tools, and built-in gauges
  • Positions and clamps stop, guides, and turntables
  • Adjusts controls to set and regulate machining factors, such as pressure and depth of ram stroke, adjustment rolls, blade angle, and machine speed
  • Locates and marks bending or cutting lines and reference points on work piece
  • Positions work piece against stops and guides or aligns layout marks with dies or cutting blades
  • Start machine and observe machine operation to reposition work piece, change dies, or adjust machine settings for successive passes
  • Inspect or measure work for accuracy
  • May operate machines to fabricate nonmetallic materials, such as composites or plastics
  • Manually load/unload raw sheet steel on and off worktables
  • Accurately complete proper paperwork as required
  • Maintain cleanliness of machines and work area organized
  • All other duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1 year relevant experience in metal fabrication
  • Must have basic math skills
  • Must know how to read and use a tape measure, use basic hand tools, and operate basic power tools
  • Physical ability to stand for 10-12 hours if needed and work on hands and knees for extended periods
  • Physical ability to lift 40 pounds on a consistent basis
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret manufacturing instructions
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
  • Read and write English
