Job summary

Power Solutions International (PSI) is seeking a Fabrication Team Member to set up and operate metal fabrication machines, cutting, bending, forming metals per blueprints. You will ensure parts meet drawings and quality standards while following safety practices.

Shift is 2nd, Mon-Fri with Saturdays as needed, 4:00 PM–2:30 AM. Requires basic math, ability to read diagrams, and experience in metal fabrication. PSI offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams.
• Experience with metal fabrication machining or high-volume manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate metal fabrication machines to ensure precision machining operations.
• Monitor and verify finished parts per engineering drawings and quality standards.
• Follow standard procedures for tool setup, process verification, inspection, and material handling.
• Perform general machine maintenance as per daily checklists.
• Lift and carry up to 40 pounds; assist with heavier items as needed.
• Adhere to safety procedures and use PPE.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Shift: 2nd shift, Monday- Friday and Saturdays as required from 4:00 PM- 2:30 AM.

Summary

Under the direction of the Metal Processing Team Lead, the Fabrication Team Member will be responsible for set up and operation of various metal fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, saws, and presses, to cut, bend, straighten and form metal plates, sheets, and structural shapes according to blueprints and specifications.

Essential Responsibilities

• Set up and operate metal fabrication machines to ensure precision machining operations.
• Monitor and verify finished parts conform to engineering drawings and quality standards per the Control Plan.
• Ensure that standard procedures are followed in all aspects of work including tool setup and operation, process verification, product inspection, documentation, and material handling.
• Perform general machine maintenance per Daily Maintenance Checklists.
• As needed, lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds of materials to assist in production. Learn and execute team lifts for items over 40 pounds.
• Adhere to all safety procedures including the use of personal protective equipment and ergonomic devices and lift assists, navigating the plant with alert behavior, operating power tools and machines according to instructions, and disposing of waste properly.
• All other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience including the ability to apply math (fractions, ratios, measurements) and to read, comprehend, and convert instruction manuals/diagrams into work.
• Demonstrated proficiency in metal fabrication machining, assembly, and/or high-volume manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of Metric and English measurement systems with the ability to perform conversions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to use micrometers, calipers, attribute/variable gages and hand tools
• Experience using or knowledge of Lean manufacturing and/or ISO9001 methodologies, processes, or tools
• Bilingual Spanish/English
