Job summary

Staffmark Group is seeking a Fabrication Support Technician for Georgetown, KY. The role pays $20.00 per hour and runs Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:30 PM. You’ll read blueprints, perform MIG/TIG/FCAW welds, and operate plasma cutters, saws and grinders while upholding safety and quality in a busy shop.

Required: high school diploma or GED; technical welding training is a plus; ability to read drawings and work overtime when needed to meet production goals.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Technical training in welding, fabrication, manufacturing, or a related trade is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety procedures, PPE requirements, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings to ensure accurate production.
  • Measure, cut, saw, grind, and shape raw metal materials to required specifications.
  • Fit, align, clamp, and tack-weld metal components prior to final assembly.
  • Perform MIG, TIG, Stick, and/or FCAW welding on a variety of metal parts and assemblies.
  • Operate welding and fabrication equipment, including plasma cutters, grinders, and saws.
  • Inspect completed welds and finished products for strength and quality.

Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Technical training in welding, fabrication, manufacturing, or a related trade is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety procedures, PPE requirements, and quality standards.
Experience Requirements
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or metalworking environment required.
  • Hands‑on experience with MIG, TIG, Stick, and/or Flux‑Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) processes.
  • Experience operating fabrication equipment, including plasma cutters, saws, grinders, and other shop machinery.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and perform welds to specification.
  • Strong attention to detail, dependability, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet production demands.
Physical Capabilities
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting, moving, and handling metal materials and fabricated components.
  • Able to work safely around welding equipment, heavy machinery, sparks, heat, and industrial tools.
  • Must consistently wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards.
Job Duties

  • Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules, quality standards, and customer requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts and assist with additional shop duties as assigned.
