Job summary

Alexandria Industries in Alexandria, MN, 1st shift (Mon-Thu, 6:30am-4:30pm) is seeking a manufacturing associate to lead safety-focused operations and accurate order fulfillment.

You will operate and set up equipment, rotate tasks every four hours, inspect products, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining clean, organized workspaces.

Qualifications

• Proficient with basic computer tasks and data entry.
• Able to recognize and address safety concerns in manufacturing.
• Experience using basic inspection tools and measurement devices.
• Self-motivated with a proactive work style.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capable of basic math calculations used in manufacturing.
• Ability to identify minor defects in finished products.
• Competent in reading blueprints and inspecting parts per specs.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example to support company vision, culture and strategies.
• Maintain a safe work environment following all safety programs.
• Set up and run equipment safely to maximize output and quality.
• Rotate tasks every 4 hours to reduce fatigue and injury risk.
• Review and fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Suggest process improvements for safety, yield and inspection methods.
• Perform general machine upkeep and maintenance as needed.
• Support 5S practices to keep the workspace organized.

Alexandria, MN - 1st shift, Monday-Thursday, 6:30am-4:30pm

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Exhibit active leadership in order to model and support the company’s vision, culture and strategies
• Ensure that safety is always the number one priority at Alexandria Industries; promote and support a safe work environment and safety oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelines
• Set up and run equipment safely and efficiently in order to maximize output while meeting customer quality requirements
• Strenuous or repetitive jobs must rotate at a minimum of every 4 hours to prevent the risk of injury
  • Strenuous activity is one in which it is necessary for you to use a lot of effort, energy or strength
  • REPETITIVE: a motion that occurs every few seconds with little or no variation
  • OSHA emphasizes that job rotation should be used as a preventative measure to prevent physical fatigue and injury
• Accurately and efficiently fulfill customer orders:
  • Review manufacturing orders in order to verify internal and external customer specifications
  • Package orders based on customer specifications
  • Follow current work center schedule to ensure customer service and satisfaction
• Monitor and recommend appropriate process improvements to safety, rates, yield and inspection techniques
• Perform general machine maintenance as necessary to keep equipment in a well maintained condition
• Provide suggestions and continuous improvements ideas to help better processes and procedures
• Keep work area clean and orderly using 5S system (standardize, sustain, sort, set in order and shine)
• Continually support and improve the department’s key measures

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The anticipated pay range for this position is $37,450-$53,000 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors include job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs and geographic location.
