Job summary

ABB is seeking a Production Lead to head a fabrication unit in Mebane, NC, ensuring efficient, cost-effective output that meets demand and KPI targets. You will oversee resources, schedules, and safety standards on site.

You will drive continuous improvement initiatives, lead Kaizen projects, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve escalations and optimize performance. This role reports to the Operations Manager and requires US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of related leadership experience.
• 3+ years in leading manufacturing or product development environments.
• Ability to learn production operations and machinery quickly.
• Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for reports and logs.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or proven track record in continuous improvement projects preferred.
• Project management skills to lead small Kaizen projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team within a fabrication unit to execute production processes.
• Ensure production results meet KPI targets through coordination of equipment, personnel, and processes.
• Drive safe working culture and enforce HSE guidelines.
• Perform competence assessments and ongoing skill upgrades.
• Lead capacity planning and resource optimization for the unit.
• Ensure production scheduling aligns with demand plan and inventory service levels.
• Identify deficiencies and oversee improvement actions in production.
• Resolve critical product or equipment issues with internal teams.
