Job summary

JGM in the United States is seeking several Shop Laborer / Helper to support daily fabrication shop operations. You will move materials, assist with surface prep including sandblasting, and help keep the shop organized and safe.

This role offers exposure to welding, fitting, fabrication, and equipment operation in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Prior labor experience is welcome; training and apprenticeship pathways are available as part of building a long-term career with JGM.

Qualifications

• Physically able to perform demanding labor in a shop environment.
• Willingness to learn welding, fabrication, fitting, or equipment operation.
• Ability to read basic drawings and follow directions.
• Punctual, reliable with early start times.
• Comfortable working around noise, dust and heavy materials.

Responsibilities

• Assist with material handling using cranes, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Support surface preparation including grinding and sandblasting.
• Prepare and finish steel surfaces and remove rust with abrasive blasting.
• Clean and prepare materials for fabrication, welding, painting.
• Maintain shop organization and safety.
• Assist skilled trades with daily tasks and setups.
• Learn to read basic drawings and understand material flow.
• Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Support loading/unloading of trucks and movement of structural steel.
