Job summary

Trillium Staffing is seeking a Shop Assistant to join our client’s growing team. The role focuses on pulling and prepping raw materials for upcoming orders and supporting fabrication workflows with the shop floor team.

You’ll assist machine operators and welders, perform grinding and deburring, tapping and drilling, and ensure materials are tracked accurately. Exposure to lasers, brake presses and saws may occur; training is provided to candidates with a mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years’ work history in an industrial/shop environment.
• Previous fabrication shop experience a huge plus.
• Ability to multi-task and take on new duties.
• Experience with hand/power tools.
• Experience with micrometers and calipers a huge plus.
• Able to lift up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities

• Pull and prep raw materials for upcoming orders.
• Assist machine operators and welders with production needs.
• Grind and deburr, tap and drill as required.
• Ensure raw materials are accounted for and tracked.
• Assist with operation of lasers, brake presses, saws and other fabrication methods.
