Job summary

Midwest fabrication company in Kenosha, WI seeks a hands-on Project Manager / Detailer / Estimator to own projects from quote through production. You will interpret drawings, build BOMs, compute estimates, and drive shop-floor workflow with direct access to ownership.

The role blends technical detailing, customer management, and production coordination in a job shop setting, with mentorship from an industry expert and a stable, repeat-customer-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a job shop or custom fabrication environment.
• Strong detailing and drawing interpretation skills.
• Hands-on BOM creation, takeoffs and quoting/estimating.
• Familiarity with structural steel components (plate, beams, angle, etc.).
• CAD experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Advanced Steel or ProNest.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while staying connected to the shop floor.
• Experience in small-to-mid-size fabrication businesses preferred.
• ERP exposure (JobBOSS or similar) preferred.
• Background managing repeat fabrication products or assemblies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary contact for customer accounts and project execution.
• Interpret drawings and develop detailed fabrication packages.
• Build Bills of Materials (BOMs) and perform material takeoffs.
• Generate quotes and cost estimates.
• Track jobs through burn table operations, fabrication & welding and shop floor workflow.
• Identify drawing discrepancies and collaborate with customers on solutions.
• Support production coordination and material planning.
