Job Summary

The Fabrication Operator (A) is responsible for working in manufacturing, performing tasks such as polishing acrylic, assembling cabin windows and pilot windows, cutting acrylic using hand tools such as band saws and manual saws, running custom machinery such as stretch machines, data entry, moving large pieces of acrylic (i.e., canopies, acrylic sheets), layup, coating, and setting up ovens and autoclaves. The Fabrication Operator (A) will support the manufacturing ramp-up of windows, canopies, and windshields for defense and commercial aircraft.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Contribute to creating a Great Place to Work by role-modeling safety-first, a Kaizen mindset, and supporting colleagues.
  2. Hold themselves and fellow team members accountable to embody GKNA culture principles.
  3. Undertake tasks in compliance with standard work and training, reporting safety, quality, or other issues immediately to their team leader.
  4. Follow all GKN Aerospace Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and standards.
  5. Understand team KPIs related to People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cash, and Cost, and their contribution to these metrics.
  6. Become certified at the Lean Foundation level and implement at least one Kaizen per month.
  7. Support problem-solving efforts and contribute ideas based on experience.
  8. Promote active team engagement and collective effort.
  9. Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements, including EEO policies, ethics, export controls, etc.
  10. Maintain accurate production records for compliance.
  11. Work while wearing a respirator and handling chemicals and resins.
  12. Use measuring tools like micrometers, scales, and calipers to ensure blueprint compliance.
  13. Follow verbal and written manufacturing instructions.
  14. Work effectively in a team environment.
Job Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Fluent in English with strong reading and writing skills.
  • Able to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds assisted).
  • US Person per ITAR regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with ASI.
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing environment.
Compensation Data

$19.82/hour
