Job summary

Nucor Corporation in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a tube laser operator for the Nucor Warehouse Systems division. The role requires reading blueprints, operating CNC tube laser equipment, and performing basic measurements with attention to safety and quality.

You will load/unload material, inspect parts, and maintain equipment while adhering to shift schedules and teamwork values central to Nucor's culture.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Must be able to work any shift, overtime, holidays and weekends.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor tube laser cutting equipment under supervision.
• Read basic blueprints and work orders.
• Use measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers.
• Load and unload metal tubing and raw materials safely.
• Inspect parts for quality and accuracy.

• Perform basic machine cleaning and preventive maintenance.

Pay Rate: $21.25 per hour, plus weekly production bonus.

Production Bonus: 0-65% potential; $34.21 - $35.06 per hour (potential range with bonus)

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Must be able to work any shift as required, overtime, holidays and weekends; must be able to work rotational shifts as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC tube laser machines or similar manufacturing equipment preferred.
• Experience in the steel industry, preferred.
• D365 experience preferred.
