Job summary

The Kendall Group, Clinton Charter Township, MI, is seeking a Fabrication Operator to support the materials management function of the fabrication department. The role involves pipe threading, cutting, grooving, testing, and bundling pipe and fittings to meet customer specifications in a fast-paced warehouse setting.

Reporting to the Fabrication Manager, you’ll perform product quality testing, painting, sandblasting when required, and read job prints.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Entry level position; no prior fabrication experience needed.
• Ability to read job prints and perform basic measurements.
• Ability to use barcode scanners and standard warehouse equipment.

Responsibilities

• Pipe threading, cutting, and grooving.
• Product quality testing through pressure/chemical testing.
• Painting product; sandblasting if required by location.
• Material layout by customer measurements/specifications and read job prints.
• Participate in safety initiatives and maintain housekeeping.
• Operate warehouse equipment and communicate issues to supervisor.

Fabricators are essential to the overall operation of the business.
