Job summary

IEM seeks an Operations Supervisor - Fabrication for our Jacksonville facility on the 3rd shift (10:00pm–6:30am ET). This is an in‑office role reporting to the Operations Manager, Fabrication, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and team development.

The ideal candidate will lead 40+ personnel in fabrication, implement lean manufacturing, manage planning, scheduling, and material flow, and drive continuous improvement while upholding safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in operations management, engineering, supply chain, or related field; five years of related leadership experience accepted in lieu of degree.
• Minimum 2 years of fabrication or process engineering experience, preferably in a leadership position.
• Proven ability to manage and motivate a team of 40+ personnel.
• Proficient in interpreting mechanical drawings, BOM, and basic wiring diagrams.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with company policies and a positive attitude toward safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Safety compliance: conduct audits, investigations, and training to maintain safety standards.
• Planning and scheduling: monitor timecards and production schedules, coordinate with planner.
• Quality Control and Process Management: perform inspections and drive continuous improvement (5S).
• Team Supervision and Performance: lead leads and operators, conduct evaluations and coaching.
• Material and Equipment Management: manage inventory and coordinate material transfers.
• Hiring, Performance and Development: interview hires and develop training procedures.
• KPIs: maintain daily management boards and data collection.
