Job summary

Amerlux, a leader in the lighting industry, is seeking a Fabrication Manager for our Oakland, NJ production facility. You will oversee daily fabrication in the Machine and Paint Shop, align workload with production schedules, and manage safety and PM compliance.

Requires 7-8 years in fabrication and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with strong expertise in engineering drawings, ERP systems, and Lean practices. Competitive salary and benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 7-8 years in fabrication/manufacturing and assembly.
• Ability to read detailed engineering drawings.
• Experience managing production teams and schedules.
• Experience with quality control and OSHA.
• LEAN/KAIZEN experience preferred.
• Proficient with ERP and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily fabrication activities across first and second shifts.
• Plan and coordinate production schedules in line with sales forecasts and historical monthly data.
• Maintain and delegate workload across the Machine and Paint Shop departments.
• Ensure all production-related data is accurately reflected in the Oracle ERP system and ShopVue MES.
• Manage raw material inventory, reporting accuracy, and cycle counts.
• Ensure fabricated parts meet engineering drawings, using drawings and measuring equipment.
• Work with Purchasing to maintain adequate inventory of powder, tooling, and related materials.
• Provide direction to Paint Shop employees on proper coating and masking techniques.
