Job summary

Novax Recruitment Group is seeking a Pre-Fabrication Manager to take ownership of the pre-fabrication and plate processing operation within a heavy fabrication environment. You will lead robotic fitting and welding teams, drive safety, quality and throughput, and partner with engineering and project management to improve flow, automation and productivity.

Some fabrication leadership roles are about keeping production moving.

This one is about changing how the operation performs.

An established structural steel fabrication business is continuing to invest in advanced manufacturing, automation and production capability and is now looking for a Pre-Fabrication Manager to take ownership of a critical part of the operation.

The business works on complex structural steel and heavy fabrication projects, with a manufacturing environment built around modern equipment, automation and increasingly sophisticated production processes.

The Opportunity

You’ll lead the pre-fabrication and plate processing operation across:

• Robotic fitting & welding

You’ll lead supervisors and production teams while taking responsibility for safety, quality, throughput, labour planning and equipment utilisation.

But the bigger opportunity is improvement.

You’ll be expected to identify bottlenecks, reduce downtime, establish meaningful KPIs and improve the overall flow, automation and efficiency of the department.
