Job summary

Atkore International is seeking a Fabrication Machine Operator for the Cartersville, GA area. You will start up and run multiple machines, ensuring quality production and minimal downtime while following safety and lean manufacturing practices.

The role requires a HS diploma (GED acceptable), the ability to work a 10-hour shift in a non-climate-controlled shop, and willingness to work overtime. Physical stamina and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor multiple pieces of equipment to ensure quality production.

Fabrication Machine Operator - 1st Shift - $22.00/hour

Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a Fabrication Machine Operator to be based out of Cartersville, GA. Reporting to the Fabrication Supervisor, this person will be responsible for performing necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment, as well as operating/monitoring multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.

Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is desired.

What you'll do:

• Actively participate in Atkore's safety program
• Cross train in different areas of the shop as required
• Ensure all processes are carried out with the required use of safety controls and PPE
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
• Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment
• Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops
• Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials

• Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. The manufacturing plant is not climate controlled. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and safety work shoes. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
