Job summary

Object Fabrication is seeking a proactive Project Foreman to own builds from planning through execution. You will bridge design and hands-on craft on the shop floor, analyze scopes, set timelines, and ensure work stays on schedule and within budget.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years leading crews, 5+ years carpentry, and deep knowledge of CNC routers, 3D milling, and blueprints. Willingness to travel and work nights/weekends is a plus; ongoing collaboration with clients and vendors is essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience leading teams under high pressure.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on carpentry experience, plus 3+ years on-site in experiential marketing/scenic fabrication.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and shop drawings; deep knowledge of CNC routers and 3D milling.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills for interfacing with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Willing to travel and work nights/weekends as project timelines require; forklift/scissor lift certs are a plus.

Job description

Position Overview

Object Fabrication is seeking a proactive, highly skilled, and detail-oriented Project Foreman to own builds from the initial planning stage through full execution. Serving as a key bridge between design and hands-on craftsmanship, you will analyze project scopes, establish actionable timelines, delegate crew responsibilities, and work directly on the shop floor to bring creative visions to life. This role requires extended knowledge of fabrication methodologies, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to keep projects running efficiently, on time, and within budget in a fast-paced environment.



Core Responsibilities


1. Project Planning & Technical Execution


  • Scope Analysis & Action Plans: Analyze the scope of work for assigned projects, devise actionable execution plans, set project timelines, and make

  • Vendor & Material Management: Communicate directly with vendors to coordinate materials and procurement while applying extensive knowledge of industry-specific construction materials.

  • Schedule Management: Work collaboratively with other production leads to deliver builds proficiently, on schedule, and within allocated project budgets.

  • Building Guidance & Execution: Work directly on active builds, providing physical labor, hands-on fabrication, technical building guidance, and strict quality control.

  • Team Management & Delegation: Direct daily shop floor operations, delegate responsibilities, and maintain active leadership to keep the crew motivated under tight deadlines and pressure.

  • Daily Workflow Execution: Drive day-to-day workflow with a sharp focus on ensuring daily \"to-do\" lists are systematically completed by the end of each shift.



3. Client Success & Communication


  • Client Relations: Lead clear, professional day-to-day communications with clients to align on expectations, ensure their vision is fully realized, and foster relationships that secure repeat business for Object Fabrication.

  • Lead Collaboration: Maintain transparent communication across the crew, vendors, and production leads to ensure seamless project handoffs and problem- solving.

  • Solution-Oriented Problem Solving: Approach unforeseen fabrication obstacles with a proactive, solution-based mindset, keeping project momentum moving forward.



4. Technical Standards & Digital Workflow


  • Blueprint & Drawing Comprehension: Interpret blueprints and shop drawings accurately to guide construction and fabrication approaches.

  • Machinery & Technique Oversight: Apply hands-on expertise with CNC routers, 3D milling processes, and specialized fabrication machinery across wood, acrylic, and metal materials.

  • Digital Organization: Utilize Slack, G Suite for Business, and modern project management applications to keep production timelines and team communications organized.



The Ideal Candidate


  • Proven Crew Leader: Minimum 3 years of experience leading teams, with a track record of effective crew management under high-pressure conditions and

  • Experienced Fabricator: Minimum 5 years of hands-on carpentry experience, alongside 3+ years on-site in experiential marketing, scenic fabrication,

  • Technical & Material Expert: Proficient in reading blueprints and shop drawings, with deep comprehension of CNC routers, 3D milling, and various wood, acrylic, and metal fabrication techniques.

  • Master Communicator & Organizer: Highly organized, positive, and professional with excellent communication skills for interfacing across clients, vendors, and internal teams.

  • Tech-Savvy & Adaptable: Proficient in Slack, G Suite for Business, and project management apps. Basic skills in Adobe programs, CAD software, or Rhino are

  • Flexible & Certified: Willing to travel and work nights/weekends as required by project timelines. Active Forklift and Scissor Lift certifications are a plus.
