ANDRITZ in Ruston, LA is seeking an experienced Fabrication Fitter to join our manufacturing team. You will read blueprints, fit and assemble metal components, and perform welding and fabrication work to produce high-quality equipment in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.

Responsibilities include interpreting drawings, laying out parts, tack welding and welding with MIG, Stick, and Flux Core, and operating fabrication tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years welding, fitting, and metal fabrication experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

About the Role

ANDRITZ is seeking an experienced Fabrication Fitter to join our manufacturing team in Ruston, Louisiana. In this role, you will read blueprints, fit and assemble metal components, and perform welding and fabrication work to produce high-quality equipment. This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where safety, quality, and teamwork are essential.

What You'll Do

• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
• Lay out, position, fit, and secure metal parts and assemblies to specification.
• Tack weld and weld components using:
  • GMAW (MIG)
  • SMAW (Stick)
  • FCAW (Flux Core)
• Use oxy-fuel and plasma cutting equipment.
• Perform measurements and inspections to ensure parts meet quality standards.
• Operate common fabrication tools and equipment.
• Use jib cranes and overhead cranes to move materials and assemblies.
• Follow all safety procedures and safe work practices.
• Assist and support shop helpers and less experienced team members when needed.

What We're Looking For Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of welding, fitting, and metal fabrication experience.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.

Knowledge & Skills

• Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings.
• Experience with MIG, Stick, and Flux Core welding processes.
• Working knowledge of oxy-fuel and plasma cutting.
• Experience using fabrication equipment such as saws, shears, punch presses, and cold saws.
• Strong math and measurement skills.
• Commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently bend, stoop, reach, and perform physical fabrication tasks.
• Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work safely in a manufacturing environment with noise, moving equipment, fumes, and other shop conditions.
