Job summary

Sterling St James LLC seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to plan and design production processes for a large market share operation in a southwestern Atlanta area plant. The role focuses on maximizing efficiency by layout, tooling, workflows, and workforce utilization, with Lean and automation emphasis.

Required are a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent), 3+ years in manufacturing engineering, SolidWorks, MS Office, and tooling experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with relevant experience.
  • At least 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Experience with 3D modeling software (SolidWorks) and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Design production tooling and processes for new and existing products.
  • Implement productivity improvements on current production lines.
  • Perform root cause analysis using lean tools and statistical methods.
  • Design and implement production processes for new products and changes.
  • Conduct FMEAs on designs, materials, or processes.
  • Review manufacturability and optimize processing.
  • Collaborate in cross-functional teams for productivity.
  • Design experiments, lean manufacturing, ROIA, etc.
  • Prepare work instructions, spare parts inventories, etc.
  • Support automation, robotics, vision systems, and fixture design.
