Job summary

SteelCell is seeking a motivated senior-level drafting/engineering student or recent graduate to join our Fabrication Engineering team as a paid Drafting/Engineering Intern. This part-time, in-person internship offers hands‑on experience working directly with an experienced drafting and engineering team, applying classroom skills to active fabrication projects.

The intern will create 3D models and drawings, support fabrication design work, and learn how drafting and engineering processes are

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old by start date.
• Senior-level student or recent graduate; enrolled in an accredited program.
• Authorized to work in the United States; complete Form I-9.
• Experience with Autodesk Inventor and 3D modeling.
• Ability to read and create technical drawings with ASME Y14.5 familiarity.
• Availability for ~20 hours/week; schedule around classes.
• Willing to complete onboarding and safety orientation.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D fabrication models and drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
• Read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
• Prepare drawings conforming to ASME Y14.5 and SteelCell practices.
• Collaborate with fabrication drafting and engineering team on projects.
• Use resources and SteelCell processes to complete tasks.
• Develop skills with increasing independence and accuracy.
