Job summary

AdientOne Consulting in Ohio is seeking a 1st shift Fabrication Associate on a 6 month assignment with conversion to full time for the right fit. The role involves fabricating sprinkler components, operating shop machinery, and assisting in pipe and sheet metal work from start to finish.

Qualified candidates will have at least 6 months of industrial experience, basic tape measure skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• 6 months recent industrial work experience.
• Machine operation experience such as saws; universal welder a plus.
• Read and understand a tape measure.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs; work with pipe and sheet metal all day.
• Willingness to learn and grow in a fabrication environment.
• Flexible; will be trained on every part of the shop.
• Strong teamwork and reliability; attend interviews via Beeline.

Responsibilities

• Follow SOPs for pipe fabrication and machine setup.
• Measure and cut pipe with band saw or torch; threading and beveling.
• Move and bundle pipe; assemble pipe orders and maintain supplies.
• Operate machines; inspect forklift equipment; ensure safety.

Job Description

1st shift Fabrication Associate-This role is a 6 month assignment and then convert to full time if the right fit.

This Shop builds sprinkler systems essentially from the ground up. We supply everything that has anything to do with fire suppression. We we bring pipe in the building, we cut the pipe down, we have to eventually fabricate all of that, weld it all, then repackage it and then get it to the job site.

Would you be open to someone that's currently in welding school that would be open to learning this process or recently graduated.

• Note: This is a non-welding position. The position hours are 5:30am to 3:00pm Monday thru Friday this is a 45 hour a week role with even more overtime possible on Saturday as needed which would be a 6 hour minimal, Fabricators typically are responsible for machine operations, general labor, assembly work, etc..
• Additional Skills: Hard working, dependable, willingness to learn and grow with Ferguson.

Must haves

• 6 months recent industrial work experience
• Machine operation experience such as saws (Plus would be universal welder)
• Read and understand a tape measure
• Candidates who will actually arrive to interviews accepted through Beeline!
• Have some type of fabrication, understanding of the tools
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Understanding that they are working with pipe and sheet metal all day.
• Strong experience within the manufacturing zone hands on with machine operating, and have good long tenure within their work history if not currently in school or right out of school
• Flexible and will eventually be trained on every part of the shop.
• Must have a willingness to learn, grow and be a team player.
• Someone who can operate a grooving machine who can operate the saw.
• Operate maybe the universal welders if we needed it.
• Someone who can do some die check and bundling and everything like that.
• Knows basic math and understanding of a tape measure.

• Follow all established standard operating procedures for pipe fabrication.
• Follow proper procedures for set up and maintenance of machines in the Fab Shop.
• Accurately measure, random pipe length with tape measure.
• Follow proper procedures for measuring and cutting pipe with band saw and/or torch.
• Follow proper procedures for threading and beveling of pipe with landis machines.
• Moving loose and /or bundled pipe from various locations within the pipe yard.
• Assemble pipe orders whether in single sticks or bundles and maintain work supplies in an organized manner.
• Observe necessary safety precautions for fabrications, cutting, assembling, stacking and shipping of pipe for storage and transportation.
• Inspect and maintain all forklift equipment in functional condition.

Qualifications

• Possess good oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
• Demonstrate superior math skills, ability to calculate quantities of product on hand.
• Knowledge of safe work practices required in the pipe yard.
• Operation of machinery for the use of cutting and threading pipe according to OSHA regulations and Client Safety Policies will train on site.
• Ability to remain results-focused in the fast-paced customer service environment.
