Job summary

JP Donovan Construction in Rockledge, FL is seeking an Assistant Supervisor for our fabrication shop. You will support the shop foreman, supervise welders and fabricators, and help ensure safety, quality and on-time production.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years in fabrication, welding, and inspection with AISC certification experience, plus knowledge of ASME IX, AISC standards, and AWS inspection procedures; a technical degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have working knowledge of ASME IX, AISC building standards and AWS inspection procedures (D1.1 / D17.1).
• Associate's or BS degree in a technical field or extensive structural steel fabrication construction experience.
• Minimum 5–7 years fabrication, inspection and welding experience with an AISC-certified company.
• Strong working knowledge of construction contracts, inspection procedures and work sequences for steel fabrication and erection.

Responsibilities

• Supervises fabrication equipment safety, training and maintenance.
• Supervises fabrication operations (welding, steel fitting, dimensional inspections).
• Coordinates between fabrication/installation and pre-fabrication activities.
• Coordinates subcontractors involved in assembly stages.
• Ensures compliance with safety procedures and quality standards.
• Searches for the most efficient technical solutions.
• Assures materials meet specification.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervises fabrication equipment safety, training and maintenance.
